Advisory Committee & Boards

The Bay County Public Library Advisory Committee is responsible for oversight and evaluation of the program of library service. Members are charged to coordinate with public and private organizations and entities regarding opportunities to support the Library System; to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the Library System; and to research and report to the Board of County Commissioners on potential public and private funding sources and grant opportunities to further the Library System. Members of the Library Advisory Committee are appointed by their respective Boards of County Commissioners and serve at the pleasure of those Boards.

Local Advisory Boards (Gulf County, Liberty County) are appointed by their respective Boards of County Commissioners upon recommendation of current members and serve at the pleasure of the Commissions. Local advisory board members work with the library director, staff, and the local governing body to make recommendations to the Library Advisory Committee on policies and procedures which affect the System's program of library service.
